New Mexico Jewelers Association All That Glitters 16th Annual Competition & Award Presentation September 20, 2008

2008 RULES

  1. All entries must be of original design and created in the last 12 months. All stones must be of Natural Gem Material, No Synthetic Materials. No imitations. Entries in each division will be judged on the following qualities: Overall beauty, Creativity, Wearability, Quality of Workmanship, a Combination of Design & Execution.
  2. Each individual may enter one (1) piece per category. Any division with less than three (3) individuals will not be judged, however they will be displayed.
  3. Items must not have been entered in any previous New Mexico Jewelers Association Competition. However, an item may have been entered in a different competition prior to this event.
  4. A store or gallery may represent or sponsor more than one designer.
  5. The entry must be available to remain on display at the New Mexico Museum of Natural History for six weeks
    September 6th – October 18th.
  6. The entry must be received by September 6, 2008 along with entry fee.

    a. Entries must be mailed or delivered to the address below:

    b. Mailed entries should be wrapped in a box with brown paper tape, and sent by U.S. Postage, Registered, &
    Insured. Please include return postage with your entry fee if you would like your item mailed back to you.

    c. Please Note: No item will be mailed back without pre-paid U.S. Postage, Registered, and Insured.

    d. Jewelry will be available for return on or about November 1st.

    e. Entries received after September 6th and before the day of judging are subject to a $30.00 late fee. This is to ensure that we properly tag and describe any item submitted late. Late submissions will not be photographed.

    f. No Entries will be received after September 10th, 2008.
  7. New Mexico Jewelers Association is not responsible for returning any special packaging that may have been sent or dropped off with each entry. This includes, but is not limited to, boxes, jewelry stands, displays, or forms. No special displays are permitted. All entries are presented to the Judges without any identification that reveals the store, owner, or designer of submitted items. The New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science will display the items using their displays.
  8. Logos or any other identifying characteristics must be masked (nail polish can be used). Unmasked items will be masked by the New Mexico Jewelers Association prior to being judged. Masking is to be removed by the craftsman or owner of each piece.
  9. Student is defined as a Full Time Student Enrolled in an accredited High School, University/College.
    THE JEWELERS OF AMERICA NATIONAL DESIGN COMPETITION
    Jewelers of America Premier Award. National contestants will be selected from the Divisions who are employed by a member store for one or more years to be entitled to represent New Mexico at the National Jewelers of America show. The winner will receive free airfare and hotel accommodations to the July National show. The winner will gain national recognition. You must be a full member of the New Mexico Jewelers Association to be eligible for the National Jewelers of America contest. This is a fund raising event in partnership with the New Mexico Museum of Natural History & Science.

PEOPLES CHOICE AWARD
Ballots will be handed out at the “ALL THAT GLITTERS 2008” event. You get to pick the winner.
